The USO has been connecting service members to family, home and country with an array of benefits, programs and services -- including entertainment -- for 75 years. This year, the USO’s 180 locations worldwide are observing the organization’s 75th anniversary – from the U.S. to the Middle East, Europe, Asia and the South Pacific.
In February 1941 -- 10 months before the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, compelling the United States to enter World War II -- President Franklin D. Roosevelt called for the creation of the United Service Organizations. The USO was charged with strengthening the American military’s service members by keeping them connected the things they were fighting to defend
As part of the 75th anniversary celebration, the USO launched Campaign to Connect.
